Zoomin.TV Mexico is looking for a

Junior Video Producer, LATAM

The Latin American, or LATAM Desk, at Zoomin.TV is the hub for all the news, stories and video content produced from the region both for international and local audiences. We feature the characters and events that are moving people and driving conversations. Via livestreams and feature videos, we cover protests and political movements, profile unsung heroes, artists, politicians, entertainers and thought-leaders inspiring the world.

Our video content is at the front and center of the topics that drive the news cycle. We bring stories with a global perspective to American audiences through our 7 topical magazines: #LocalHeroes, #First2Know, #FuturePlanets, #Brainchips, #SparkyThoughts, #JustMe and #LifeHacks

Based in Mexico City, the LATAM desk manages a wide network of video journalists across the region and plays a central role in adapting the international content produced by other desks for its Spanish-speaking audiences.

Role and Responsibilities:
The LATAM desk junior video producer’s main responsibility is pitching and producing original video stories that fit our overall mission, using Zoomin’s freelance video journalist network
Finding daily original stories and story angles that resonate with the Latin American audiences with a special focus on Mexico
Assembling detailed pre-production documents and working with video journalists on assignments
Coordinating video needs and communicating with the chief editors of Zoomin’s magazines, VJ coordinators, as well as with other country desks
Conceptualizing and producing fast-turnaround, shorter pieces for social media
Crafting creative and compelling headlines and captions for internal CMS and social media posts
Translating and locally assembling video edits

Experience producing digital video and video for social media
Video editing skills and experience with Adobe Premiere
Familiarity and genuine interest in the news, both in Mexico and the LATAM region
Journalism, media and/or documentary production background preferred
Ability to manage several projects and deliver on deadline
Voiceover experience a plus
Excellent communication skills
Must have able to legally work in Mexico
Spanish as a native language
Advanced command of English
